I found strength and a purpose bigger than me in a recent condition of mine called Vitiligo. what I once covered with facial makeup has become a blessing in disguise as I focused my mental energy into creating a hyper detailed self-portrait as a form of Catharsis. I choose to document this stage of my Vitiligo because every unpigmented spot contributes to my self-acceptance story. My superpower is in my identity and now this beautiful condition came into my life's journey as part of fulfilling my purpose.

Spending over 180 hours drawing every pore and spot unlocked a new level of self-intimacy, with the very core of my being. I completed it on July 15th, 2020 the day I turned 27 years old and this serves to encourage everyone to have self-love despite any insecurity. Your difference is your superpower and You are enough. My spots would keep evolving into different patterns and I promise to love and artistically document it, thus my title 'Black metamorphosis, my melanin journey.
